My Inspiration

I spent my days at university gaining my degree in teaching - at the time, I thought it was exactly what I wanted to do. However, in the past decade I have married, had children and made our house a home and my passions have turned towards that as I left my teaching career to raise my family. Our home is where we come together at the end of each day to be a family, which is why I have fallen in love with Peter Stutchbury's designs.

Road Trip

My obsession started on a family road trip, where we stopped off at the site of Peter Stutchbury's invisible house. I was mesmerized from the second I caught sight and couldn't get it out of my mind. The house is located in the perfect spot, nestled amongst the trees and overlooking Megalong Valley in NSW. My husband is an architect and we had stopped off for him, but ultimately I was the one changed by this moment.

The Perfect House

I loved the concept of the invisible house - it was pure genius. Located at number 2493 Jenolan Caves Road, it was named Australian House of the Year and was also winner of a Royal Institute of British Architects Award for International Excellence. The beautiful Australia landscape that accompanies the gorgeous house and the endless potential for gardening and landscaping around the house in the country outback is what won me over and inspired my family's need for a country move.

On Board

My husband was on board with the idea straight away and we decided to start looking for the perfect home. We wanted to move to country NSW and surround ourselves with beautiful landscapes and amazing views each and every day. I wanted a place I could do up on my own to create the perfect home for my family.
